I have disliked my nose since I was about 12 years old. I felt like it was too big for my face and I hated my profile. Last year (at the age of 24) I decided that it was time to look into what options I had. I did extensive research and had my e-consultation with Dr. East in November. During my first meeting with Dr. East, I could immediately tell that he not only was experienced and highly professional, but that he perfectly understood what I wanted to change/ improve. Dr. East is also very friendly and easy to speak to, I immediately felt like I would be in the best of hands. He reassured me that I would have a natural result and due to health issues that I had voiced, he suggested that I get a Cone Beam CT scan done. It then turned out that my nose was fractured and that my septum was deviated, which made me feel even more certain to undergo this procedure. Moreover, reaching the decision to choose Dr. East and to proceed with an open septorhinoplasty was easy. I had my operation in January, due to a cancellation. Everyone was lovely at the hospital and I spent the night at the hospital, even though in retrospect I would have been able to go home the same day. Day 2 and day 3 post-surgery were the most difficult, I wouldn’t say that I was in pain, but do expect discomfort during these days especially. The recovery journey has otherwise been seamless. One piece of advice is to trust in the process, and not to worry too much about minor irregularities. It is normal for the nose to change slightly in appearance for the first few weeks. Now I am 2 months post-surgery and extremely pleased with the results. I look the same, the only difference is that my features seem softer and that I have a pretty profile, which I never knew could even be a possibility. I wouldn’t change a single thing. A big thank you to Dr. East and his wonderful team!
